The Mission of St. Teresa-St. Rita STREAM Academy is to educate our school community: Spiritually, Morally, Intellectually, Socially, and Physically by fostering Christian values and a strong academic foundation.
We believe in the importance of respect for all individuals. As such, we must be role models, showing respect for all in our community and valuing the individual talents and abilities of each member. We hope to instill in our students a respect for all people in society.
As Catholic educators, we believe that our school should emphasize the development of Catholic ideals and coordinate the efforts of all clergy, faculty, staff and parents involved in the formation of enlightened, educated and mature Catholics, dedicated to Christ and His Church. We feel that it is the job of all of us in the school community to work toward our common goals in a Catholic atmosphere.
We endeavor to work in cooperation with parents to reinforce and enrich Catholic values.
While respect for individuality is important, we also believe in the importance of the community. As such, working together and with each other is valued.
All children will participate in the total academic life of our school, including religious education. According to the norms of our Church, it is expected that non-Catholics participate as fully as they can in the liturgical and prayer life of the school.
The religious educators of our schools are committed to teaching the fullness of revelation as it is taught by the Roman Catholic Church and as the life and doctrine are set forth in the Religious Education Guidelines of the Archdiocese of New York.
While our teachers value ecumenical education and respect the traditions of other ecclesiastical communities, they always teach within the context of fidelity to the doctrine and traditions of our teaching church.
